Check out our frequently asked questions.

Is thicker pool liner material better (I’ve heard of 20mil and 27mil)?

Only if you have unusual activities happening in your pool such as large dogs that might claw at the sides of the swimming pool, or heavy activity over and beyond normal swimming and playing activity. You will pay more for the thicker vinyl pool liner material and receive the same warranty as the standard 20mil material. Some patterns are only available in the thicker material so it might be worth the extra cost for this reason.

Will the pattern I choose look good?

Liner Patterns are designed by the manufacture, a design team ensures that all the patterns look good. It comes down to your personal preference.

I’m losing water, how do I know if it’s my liner or not?

Old liners can develop pinhole leaks, leak detection can identify leaks and when possible patch a hole. When multiple pin hole leaks are present it’s time to replace your liner.

My pool and hot tub water looks a little cloudy - is this a chemical imbalance or is my equipment working improperly?

Dingy water could be a result of several things but is most likely due to a PH chemical imbalance. Clearene can rectify this for you by preforming a “pool shock” which will balance the chemicals in your water and take your pool or hot tub from green to clean.

We will also investigate your pool or hot tub to make sure all equipment is working properly and discuss how you can prevent this from happening in the future.

Not enough free available chlorine. Chlorine in the water is combined with bather or swimmer waste and other organics which can smell. If using bromine the smell is chorobromomines.

Buildup of body oils deodorants, perfume, cologne, cosmetics, soap residue, hair spray, and other personal care chemicals low calcium hardness soft water source water foamability over use or over-dosing algaecide, over-dosing enzymes filter cleaner residue or deck washing

Why is there a white hard substance on the water line of my vinyl liner or the tile of my pool or spa?

This is scale formation because of high calcium hardness, high pH, or high total alkalinity.

Why do I have algae? (green, yellow, brown, black, pink or white)

Insufficient free available chlorine or bromine residual. heavy rain or wind can cause this as well. These problems can be solved proactively with our standard, or deluxe weekly services.
